WSP and the Climate Issue

The awareness that we all have a role to play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions has increased dramatically over the last few years. Authorities, clients and employees are beginning to focus their requirements. The cost of energy, not least oil, is on the rise.

Questions regarding renewable energy sources, the reduction of energy consumption and awareness of our climate are becoming integral to competitive packages. There are no easy answers – many “small” decisions must be combined to provide effective overall solutions.

A changing climate requires adaptation

WSP have the depth and the knowledge

WSP covers the whole field from general planning, through to detailed planning and on to construction and administration. For several years we have been working on tasks that aim to reduce climatic impacts, as well as making sure that operations are “climate safe”.

WSP offers systems and support to provide cost effective integration of the climate issues within our clients' business. We have already implemented a large number of projects where the climate issues have been integrated successfully.

  • EAT, Energy Assessment Tool, which compares different energy supply alternatives and their life cycle costs as well as the emission of greenhouse gases at the time of new production or rebuilding.
  • “The Energy Rose” which is used by our certified energy experts when they carry out energy assessments on buildings.
