Bypass Stockholm

Bypass Stockholm is a £2.0bn project that will extend for 21 kilometres between Kungens Kurva to the south of Stockholm and Häggvik, north of the capital, including 17 kilometres of tunnels. The construction is planned to start in 2012 and it will take eight years to build the highway.

Bypass Stockholm

The Swedish Road Administration believes that the six-lane highway Bypass Stockholm is the best alternative in order to meet today’s and future traffic needs west of Stockholm.

It will connect the northern and southern regions in an effective way without burden Stockholms central parts. It will create a bypass for long-distance traffic, it will improve the traffic situation on the entry roads into the city. A majority of organizations and authorities are in favor of the Bypass Stockholm-alternative.
