Arsta Bridge, Stockholm

The Arsta Bridge, in central Stockholm, is located 45 meters west of the old Arsta Bridge. The new bridge over Arstaviken bay has a length of 860 meters, and it is 19,5 meters wide. The bridge includes a double-track railway as well as service roads on each side and a pedestrian/bicycle track.

Foster and Partners (together with Ove Arup) designed the new Arsta Bridge. It incorporates two new train tracks, a pedestrian and cycle way and a maintenance access road.

WSP was responsible for the construction of the bridge, the geotechnical and environmental investigations, risk analysis, etcetera. The construction of the bridge was completed in 2005.
