Introduction
WSP International Sweden AB is cooperating with the Libyan consultant, National Consulting Bureau, in the 3rd Generation Planning Project. The project includes regional and urban planning in northwestern Libya, including the Tripoli Metropolitan Area. The project group today consists of around 50 persons half of which are WSP employees. The working language is English.
Responsibilities
As parts of the project some 125 urban and detailed plans are to be elaborated for the Tripoli Region during two years. During the spring WSP will be replacing several Urban Planners who have completed their contracts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Under the management of the Senior Urban Planner take responsibility for the elaboration of urban and detailed plans for different kind of settlements in the Tripoli region
• Have an ability to work creatively and to adopt the professional experience to the Libyan context
• Both to work independently and to establish a close cooperation with the other members of the urban planning team
Contract period: 1 year with possible extension
Starting date: As soon as possible
Duty station: Tripoli, Libya
Requirements
• Master of Science in urban planning or similar experience
• 5 years experience of urban planning
• Experience of ArcGis or simular GIS tools
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Previous overseas experience considered an advantage
